Recently, I had the pleasure of capturing a beautiful family photo session at the stunning Ornamental Gardens in Ottawa. The session featured a lively toddler and an adorable baby, making for a delightful and energetic experience.
One of my main goals during this shoot was to keep things fun and relaxed, especially with a toddler in the mix. Toddlers love to explore, and I always believe it’s best to embrace their curiosity. Instead of trying to control their energy, we encouraged the little one to run around, play, and enjoy the beautiful garden setting. This allowed us to capture candid, joyful moments that truly reflected the family’s dynamic.
The Ornamental Gardens provided the perfect backdrop with its vibrant flowers, lush greenery, and quiet pathways. The baby happily enjoyed the calm environment, while the toddler was free to roam and explore, which led to some sweet sibling interactions and spontaneous giggles that were a joy to capture.
By focusing on creating a stress-free atmosphere, we were able to preserve the genuine love and connection between the family. The result was a collection of images that not only showcased their bond but also celebrated the playful spirit of childhood.
This session reminded me of how important it is to let kids be kids during a photoshoot. When they’re allowed to have fun, the photos become so much more meaningful. The Ornamental Gardens, with its peaceful beauty and wide open spaces, was the ideal location for this relaxed and joyful session.
